Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain VMware solutions to meet the organization's virtualization needs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems and applications.
• Migrate virtual machines across different clusters while minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency, utilizing expertise in Servers, Storage, and VMware infrastructure.
• Configuring various storage systems via vSAN and managing core Systems infrastructure using VMware vCenter and vSAN.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMware infrastructure, virtual machines, and system performance, demonstrating excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
• Develop proactive solutions to reduce reactive work, enhance system management, and address infrastructure-related issues faced by stakeholders.
• Provide guidance on performance monitoring tools to application owners, presenting recommendations and solutions to the leadership team.
• Collaborate with networking, system, data security, and service desk teams to assess and implement new solutions for improving support tools, security practices, and cost-saving measures associated with the infrastructure.
• Negotiate pricing with vendors when purchasing new tools and technologies, contributing to project-level architecture and IT system concepts.
• Perform routine maintenance on infrastructure tools, including building new VMs per user request and decommissioning unused VMs regularly.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in virtualization, VMware solutions, and system administration.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working with VMware solutions, with expertise in designing, implementing, and managing VMware infrastructure.
• VMware certifications such as VCP (VMware Certified Professional) or VCAP (VMware Certified Advanced Professional) are a plus.
• Excellent English Language proficiency paired with good communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Rotating after-hours support for urgent infrastructure outages/issues

Nice to Have

• Implement and manage Active Directory, WSUS, and other related systems.
• Proficiency in Servers, Storage, Active Directory (AD), and WSUS
• Knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems, Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, DHCP, and DNS, with experience in Linux OS and PowerShell scripts as an asset.
