About The Position

As a full stack software developer at Tortal, you will collaborate with our team of developers and project managers to produce and deliver innovative solutions using a variety of web technologies. Responsibilities include the maintenance and growth of our award-winning Tortal Learning Management platform and the development of custom integrations and solutions for our clients.

Our ideal candidate has earned a degree in Computer Science or has equivalent experience and is interested in cutting-edge web application development. They are able to motivate themselves in a flexible environment. They can solve problems both individually and in a collaborative environment, and can work with our customers to analyze business requirements and document technical solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

•A degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

•5+ years of web application development experience

•Solid proven experience with ASP.NET Core, C#, Classic ASP (VBScript and Jscript)

•Proficient with MS SQL Server (SSMS): configuration and tuning, query profiling and optimization, index management, trigger management, backup/restore management

•Proficient experience using JavaScript, jQuery

•Proficient with CSS3, HTML5, Bootstrap Framework

•Proficient with MS Windows Server (2016) administration, configuration, performance monitoring and tuning, Cron/Scheduled Task management and deployment

•Experience with IIS 10 Deployment

•Experience with SVN use and administration

•Experience with IDE’s such as Visual Studio Code, Sublime Text, Eclipse

•Experience with CI/CD: Jenkins, Maven

•Experience with Cloud, CDN and IaaS with AWS S3/CloudFront, Azure

•Experience with RESTful APIs

•Experience with authentication protocols such as SAML 2.0, OAuth

●Practical development experience in PHP

●Practical development experience in React

●Proficient in SQL/MySQL or similar

●Proficient knowledge of Git

●Solid understanding of containers and virtualization.

●Previous experience with AWS or similar

Preferred Experience:

●Experience working in an Agile team environment

●Proficient understanding of OWASP/NIST security principles

●Experience with the following technologies

○ MySQL

○ PHP

○ Java

○ React.js

○ PowerShell

○ WordPress plugin development and integration

○ Email routing, SMTP Deployment, and control

○ Domain name management and configuration

○ Ecommerce integrations with PayPal, Authorize.NET

Additional Responsibilities

•Manage and mentor a small team of developers

•Work within an agile development process, managing 2-week sprints and participating in and contributing to regular stand-ups

•Scope out new work requests submitted by project management, sales, and support

•Write specifications for and develop new features and product enhancement as necessary

•Provide architectural direction on the Tortal suite of products

•Work with the team to support the platforms hosted on Azure/AWS for our clients
